This original work was left in the basement of the town hall in Dewhurst, Wisconsin. It had over the years sustained much water damage. It was in a large walnut Victorian frame with stained mat and broken glass when I received it. I removed it from the mat and frame and had to scan it in 9 sections due to its large size. 26" x32". When I removed it, a .22 long rifle bullet fell out of the frame. |
There was a small hole in the walnut frame. There is no one alive today to tell the story of who was shooting in the Town hall and hit Col. Dewhurst. It is not a photo, but an original drawing. I scanned it into my computer, did the necessary corrections and had an archival photo print made, restored the water stains on the mat with pastels and reframed it.
