Round Cloisonné Work by DIACCA from 1974-1985A view of the back of the previous piece done with sterling mountings. |

The little u-shaped cutaway is placed in such a way as to facilitate the hanging of the small wall piece. These pieces are part of a series of cloisonné work which were designed to be wall mounted. The majority of all the enamels are fully transparent and all are of the lead-bearing type. I believe that glass (enamel) should really reflect and refract as I believe glass is intended to. I do not like to fill between the cloisons with enamel flush to the top as is the usual manner of cloisonné artists creating a flat surface. If the wires project a slight bit and the enamel is a bit concave, it only adds to the interest, reflectivity and subtle depth of the piece. | |
